Course Information

The Intro to Handguns LVL1 course is a 5-6 hour beginner level training course with classroom and range instruction. This course is ideal for anyone new to handguns, and/or anyone considering purchasing their first new gun. Starting with a heavy emphasis on safety and practicality, we cover a lot more than “just the basics” in this course.

** SUMMER HOURS: Friday 4pm to 6pm in Classroom. Sat 7am to 2pm on the range. **

Must be lawfully allowed to train with firearms.

Required Gear:

Note-taking material
Eye / Hearing Protection
Handgun: Revolver or Semi-Automatic of .22 LR caliber or greater.
(No single-action “cowboy” guns)
Spare magazines, speed strips (for revolvers) and/or speed loaders
A minimum of 100 rounds of target ammunition
Water, snacks/ag lunch, and sunscreen as appropriate
Weather appropriate attire for the private outdoor range (no sandals or open-toed footwear)

Rental Guns and Gear available upon coordinated request.

Our Instructors

Jacob was raised in the firearm community through not only personal experience and necessity, but through hundreds of hours of training, personal conviction, and competition shooting. Currently Jacob is Diamondback’s Head Firearms Instructor, but this is a temporary stepping stone until he completes enrollment into the IDF.

-Avid firearm fundamentals enthusiast since childhood
-Local USPSA and IDPA competition shooter
-NRA certified RSO, Pistol, Rifle, and Shotgun Instructor

A Former US Marine, Roan Grimm has dedicated his life to the study of the grim realities of violent close combat.  With 35+ years of martial arts, the past 27 of which have been focused on the weapon intensive Filipino martial arts (arnis/eskrima/kali) and WWII era American combatives (scientific dirty fighting). With over 125 real contact stick fights with the world renown Dog Brothers, Grimm has tested the theories of actual fighting with impact weapons at a level few can approach.
