Course Information

The OC Spray and Taser course is a one day, 4-hour course covering the history and evolution of OC Spray and Taser, proper storage and maintenance, deployment techniques, and finishes up with the law and legal applications to less lethal. the course begins covering taser applications and finishes with OC Spray. This course is open to Security Guards and Civilians, HOWEVER, security guards will be mandated to be exposed to OC, civilians are not required to be exposed to complete this training.





Security guards must bring their duty gear to this course. Email training@dbackshootingsports.com to coordinate rentals, or with questions.

**Security Guards will have the option to be directly exposed to OC/Taser, it is required to be indirectly exposed to OC Spray in this course!**

Note-taking material
Duty belt for Guards, and some type of carry plan for civilians
Students must provide their own OC Spray and/or Taser
Change of clothes (May want to bring trash bag clothes for the exposure to OC)
Water, snacks or lunch

Our Instructors

A US Army 1st Infantry Division medic, JD served in Operation New Dawn in Iraq (2010-2011) a Medic. After his active duty service, he contracted as a civilian worldwide and continued to provide operational medical support across the Middle East and Africa. In addition, he served with Arizona’s own 1/158th National Guard unit. He taught over 200 Combat Life Saver (CLS) Courses during his time in service and has firsthand experience in combat trauma.

A US Army 82nd Airborne Reconnaissance Infantryman, and Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran (2008-2009), I also spend as much time as possible outside hunting and fishing. Having countless hours training with multiple weapon platforms from crew served weapons to pistols, and having trained military, law enforcement, and civilians. I organized Diamondback Training Center’s teaching methodology following Murphy’s law, and taking equal portions of military, law enforcement, and civilian training environments to give our students the best experience possible.
