Course Information

The Combative Carbine & Handgun Combo is a Level 3 firearms training course. Highly dynamic and physically demanding, this course requires non-negotiable, top-tier Safe Gun Handling skill. This class includes advanced drills including vehicle ops, CQB, pressing through the threat, breaking contact solo and in a team, movement shooting, communicating and shooting, and this course will never be the same twice, inducing the real-life scenario of an actual gunfight.

PREREQUISITES:

LVL2 Handgun AND LVL2 Carbine

NOTES:

This course has a student minimum of 3 and a student maximum of 10

Must be lawfully allowed to train with firearms.

  • Gear use and set up
  • Fundamentals revisited (handgun and carbine)
  • Several Fast-n-Slow drills
  • Timed Malfunction Clearance drills
  • Timed Reload drills
  • Shooting While Moving
  • Multiple Targets/Various Distance Engagements
  • CQB Drills
  • Team Drills

Required Gear:

Semi-auto Handgun and/or
Semi-auto Carbine (AR, AK) with at least 4 mags
3 mags and one mag pouch pistol
3 mags and one mag pouch carbine
Minimum of 400 rounds of pistol and/or carbine ammunition
Sturdy strong-side holster
Dual handgun mag pouch
Dual AR or AK mag pouch
Change of clothes, or range clothes
Rifle Sling

Our Instructors

A US Army 1st Infantry Division medic, JD served in Operation New Dawn in Iraq (2010-2011) a Medic. After his active duty service, he contracted as a civilian worldwide and continued to provide operational medical support across the Middle East and Africa. In addition, he served with Arizona’s own 1/158th National Guard unit. He taught over 200 Combat Life Saver (CLS) Courses during his time in service and has firsthand experience in combat trauma.

A US Army 82nd Airborne Reconnaissance Infantryman, and Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran (2008-2009), I also spend as much time as possible outside hunting and fishing. Having countless hours training with multiple weapon platforms from crew served weapons to pistols, and having trained military, law enforcement, and civilians. I organized Diamondback Training Center’s teaching methodology following Murphy’s law, and taking equal portions of military, law enforcement, and civilian training environments to give our students the best experience possible.
