Course Information

Youth Firearms Safety is 2-3 hours in length covering multiple safety procedures for children and young adults to follow if/when they find themselves encountering firearms. The course meets at our private outdoor range and begins with safety and range procedures, we then lecture and shoot demonstrations before we instruct our students firing a 22lr rifle and pistol.

NOTES:

Children must be between the ages of 10-15 years old and accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Due to Covid-19 this course has a class maximum of 4 until further notice

What this course covers

 

  • Rules of firearm safety and safe range procedures
  • What to do when encountering a firearm with/without adult supervision
  • Safe firearms handling for multiple different firearm action types
  • Parent and child communication techniques when encountering an unsafe environment
  • Practical exercise of safe firearms handling techniques

Required Gear:

Pen or pencil for note taking

A US Army 82nd Airborne Reconnaissance Infantryman, and Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran (2008-2009), I also spend as much time as possible outside hunting and fishing. Having countless hours training with multiple weapon platforms from crew served weapons to pistols, and having trained military, law enforcement, and civilians. We are constantly updating our training curriculum, making Diamondback an ideal training environment for individuals from every walk of life.

A Former US Marine, Roan Grimm has dedicated his life to the study of the grim realities of violent close combat.  With 35+ years of martial arts, the past 27 of which have been focused on the weapon intensive Filipino martial arts (arnis/eskrima/kali) and WWII era American combatives (scientific dirty fighting). With over 125 real contact stick fights with the world renown Dog Brothers, Grimm has tested the theories of actual fighting with impact weapons at a level few can approach.
