Course Information
Introduction to Handguns Level 1 is 4-5 hours of classroom and range instruction. Starting with a heavy emphasis on safety and practicality, we cover a lot more than “just the basics” in this course including slow fire for accuracy, trigger follow through, speed v accuracy, presentation from compression, and defensive shooting drills. Students will leave with the confidence and knowledge needed to practice on their own and come back for our level 2 courses!
**Students are responsible for purchasing 100 rounds of target (FMJ) ammunition.**

PREREQUISITES:
Must be lawfully allowed to train with firearms. (Under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a legal guardian)
NOTES: Utilization of our handguns is provided at NO additional charge!
Firearms available for use include; Glock 19 Gen5 (9mm), Glock 43 (9mm), CZ P10c (9mm), Smith and Wesson Ez380 (380), Glock 42 (380), and Smith & Wesson Model 649 (revolver).

Required Gear:
Note-taking material
Eye / Hearing Protection
Handgun: Revolver or Semi-Automatic of .22 LR caliber or greater.
Spare magazines, speed strips (for revolvers) and/or speed loaders
A minimum of 100 rounds of target ammunition
Water, snacks or lunch, and sunscreen as appropriate
Weather appropriate attire for the private outdoor range (no sandals, open-toed footwear, or tank tops)
Guns available upon coordinated request.
Our Instructors

A US Army 82nd Airborne Reconnaissance Infantryman, and Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran (2008-2009), I also spend as much time as possible outside hunting and fishing. Having countless hours training with multiple weapon platforms from crew served weapons to pistols, and having trained military, law enforcement, and civilians. I organized Diamondback Training Center’s teaching methodology following Murphy’s law, and taking equal portions of military, law enforcement, and civilian training environments to give our students the best experience possible.

A Former US Marine, Roan Grimm has dedicated his life to the study of the grim realities of violent close combat. With 35+ years of martial arts, the past 27 of which have been focused on the weapon intensive Filipino martial arts (arnis/eskrima/kali) and WWII era American combatives (scientific dirty fighting). With over 125 real contact stick fights with the world renown Dog Brothers, Grimm has tested the theories of actual fighting with impact weapons at a level few can approach.
