Course Information

Close Quarter Battle 2; This course begins with 1-2 hours classroom presentation covering aspects of law enforcement and military room clearing SOP’s. We then move to the range and begin our practical course of fire. We begin running dry one student at a time, then build on the practical skills of each shooter. The course of fire ends with a live fire shoot into a center fed and corner fed room, as well as working doors and hallways.

Close Quarter Battle 3; Expanding on our level 2 course, students begin working team movement skills up to the door, entry and room clearing in teams, as well as establishing over watch. There is so much information in this course it can not all be explained here. It is an absolute necessity for anyone working with teams, military, law enforcement, or civilian applications of home entry or defense.



Level 2 CQB may be attended after EDC. Level 3 students must have completed the level 2 CQB, as well as the lvl 3 Run Test


This course has a student minimum of 3 and maximum of 6.

This course describes military and law enforcement tactics.

Must be lawfully allowed to train with firearms. 

What this course covers

  • Battle drills as read from the infantryman’s handbook (Establishing SOP’s)
  • Methodology of entering and clearing buildings, breaking contact, and advancing through the threat
  • Communication while engaged in closed environments
  • Methodology between soft knock and hard knock

Our Instructors

A US Army 1st Infantry Division medic, JD served in Operation New Dawn in Iraq (2010-2011) a Medic. After his active duty service, he contracted as a civilian worldwide and continued to provide operational medical support across the Middle East and Africa. In addition, he served with Arizona’s own 1/158th National Guard unit. He taught over 200 Combat Life Saver (CLS) Courses during his time in service and has firsthand experience in combat trauma.

A US Army 82nd Airborne Reconnaissance Infantryman, and Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran (2008-2009), I also spend as much time as possible outside hunting and fishing. Having countless hours training with multiple weapon platforms from crew served weapons to pistols, and having trained military, law enforcement, and civilians. I organized Diamondback Training Center’s teaching methodology following Murphy’s law, and taking equal portions of military, law enforcement, and civilian training environments to give our students the best experience possible.
